Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are interested in signing Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Lautaro Martinez, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic are reporting this morning that Chelsea want to sign Martinez, linked with moves to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea reportedly want to pair the Argentina international striker with Romelu Lukaku, with the two players having played together at Inter Milan, winning the Serie A title in 2020-21.

Il Bianconero reported in April that Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte wants to sign Inter striker Martinez and prefers him to Paulo Dybala, who is leaving Juventus this summer.

The Times reported this month that Martinez has turned down Arsenal because the Gunners will not play in the Champions League next season.

Chelsea a big threat to Tottenham and Arsenal regarding Lautaro Martinez

In our view, Chelsea are a major threat to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in regard to signing Lautaro Martinez.

Now, of course, Inter Milan are going to ask for a lot of money in transfer fees if they are to sell Martinez, described as “perfect” by former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on BT Sport 1 (2:27pm, December 13, 2021).

But Chelsea can pay that, especially as they now have new owners.

Chelsea are regulars in the Champions League and compete for the Premier League title and actually win.

A move to Chelsea could appeal to Martinez, who scored 21 goals and gave three assists in Serie A this season, and scored 17 goals and provided six assists in the league in 2020-21.
