Rio Ferdinand has praised Liverpool central defender Ibrahima Konate on BT Sports (11:37pm, May 28, 2022) for his performance against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday evening.

The former Manchester United defender believes that Konate played well for Liverpool and can be proud of his performance in the final of the Champions League despite the result.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool lost the match 1-0.

Madrid star Vinicius Junior scored the only goal of the game in the second half.

Ferdinand said about Konate on BT Sports (11:37pm, May 28, 2022): “Today he was the best defender on the pitch in terms of an individual performance.

“In one-v-one situations, dominant, he was tremendous. He can take some good credit out of this game even if they lost.”

Impressive

In our view, Liverpool central defender Ibrahima Konate played well against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday evening.

Yes, the 23-year-old could have done better for the Karim Benzema offside ‘goal’, but other than that incident, the Frenchman did just fine and should be proud of himself.

Konate dealt with Madrid forward Vinicius Junior well, and throughout his time on the pitch, the Frenchman was brilliant with his positioning and reading of the game.

Liverpool played well against Madrid despite the defeat, and we think that Konate did well and showed that he has a bright future ahead of him.
