Natalie Sawyer has shared that the Leeds United players she spoke to are buying into what Jesse Marsch is doing at the club.

The TV and Radio presenter, who is a Brentford fan, added that ‘in contrast to social media’, the Leeds players told her that Marsch has brought a ‘positive change’ to Yorkshire.

Leeds secured Premier League safety on the last day of the season when they beat Brentford and Burnley lost to Newcastle.

Jack Harrison scored a stoppage-time winner to make sure of the points, as the Bees were down to nine men during the game because of Sergi Canos’ sending off and Kristoffer Ajer going off injured.

But Sawyer shared on talkSPORT that some in the Leeds camp didn’t even know Brentford were down to nine men.

“I spoke with a few people who I know in the Leeds camp, they didn’t even know that Brentford were down to nine men,” said Sawyer.

“The red card was so quickly issued, and Canos walked off, they had no idea. They thought they were down to ten, no idea it was nine, which I thought was quite interesting.

“They (the Leeds players) spoke very positively about Jesse Marsch. They said he’s the kind of manager who is in constant communication with them.

“They thought he had a positive influence. It’s in contrast to some of the comments you might have seen on social media.

“So, the players I have spoken to have brought into him. They do think he brought about a positive change. They did say they loved Bielsa, but felt he had run his course.”

MARSCH NEEDS TO ADD MUCH-NEEDED DEPTH TO THE LEEDS SQUAD

Marcelo Bielsa will go down as a Leeds legend for what he has done for the club, but the correct call was made to let him go.

He liked to work with a small squad during his time in Yorkshire which, in truth, caused more havoc on this injury-hit team.

But Marsch will be looking to change all of that up during the summer transfer window and add more meat to the club’s bone.

Brenden Aaronson has already been signed up and the summer transfer window hasn’t officially opened yet, so that’s a positive sign straightaway.
