Liverpool’s Sadio Mane joining Real Madrid is getting a bit of traction lately.

Last week, The Athletic reported that the Spanish outfit could turn to Jurgen Klopp’s livewire – who joined for £30 million in 2016 – after missing out on Kylian Mbappe.

In midweek, it was reported that the 30-year-old attacker was now intent on quitting Liverpool for Bayern Munich in the belief that they do not value him, with Mane only earning £100,000 per week at Anfield [Spotrac].

However, AS in Spain has reported today that despite the speculation, there is no agreement for the former Southampton player to swap the Reds for Bayern this summer.

But the Spanish outlet did suggest that Carlo Ancelotti could step up his interest in Mane – arguably Liverpool’s best player during the second half of the campaign – if the player impressed in tonight’s Champions League a final.

A source told the paper: “If he plays a great game in the final, Madrid could still be an option.”

Sadio Mane joining Real Madrid could be the stuff of nightmares for a Liverpool supporter because if the Bernanbeu club win in Paris tonight, and sign one of Klopp’s best players this summer, well talk about insult to injury.

Mane has well and truly outshone Mohamed Salah since January, with the latter only netting nine goals in 27 appearances across all competitions in 2022.

Even with Luis Diaz impressing since arriving during the winter, the Senegal international has taken his game to new heights entirely.

With his contract expiring next summer, Mane is somebody who Liverpool absolutely need to keep.
