After turning down Villarreal and Newcastle United, the Belgium international is heading to a Milan side who tasting Scudetto glory for the first time in a decade.
Origi will reportedly earn £65,000-a-week at the San Siro over the course of the next four or five years.
“We are talking to Origi and it seems to be going well,” says Maldini, translated by Walfoot.
“With two or three important signings and the consolidation of the players we have, we can compete for something bigger in the Champions League.”
