Next-Gen Dreams For Grand Theft Auto 6

It seems like a no-brainer that GTA 6 will be a next-gen release that can only be played on PS5, Xbox Series X and eventually, PC and Streaming services. But even with that most basic information, everything still needs to be treated with a big pinch of salt. And while that goes for what has been found by fans this week, it’s still worth checking for those wanting to know the latest.

Fans scouring LinkedIn profiles have discovered some intriguing new details listed on a new Rockstar Games employee profiles. This includes a look at the information listed, which reads: “Responsible for cinematics cinematography and narrative design flow for immersive, seamless transitions from cinematics to in-game,” And “cinematic transitions for cutscenes and interactive scenarios.”

These finds have given hope to fans that GTA 6 will continue the work of providing smoother transitions between cutscenes and gameplay, with the added bonus that it will be at higher graphical fidelity.

One user posted on Reddit: “RDR2 had great animation but you could easily tell when one animation ends and another starts. Motion matching would make transitions really seamless. TLOU2 is probably the only example we have of this tech. For Honor uses it too but it’s a multiplayer game.”

Although a new Grand Theft Auto game has been announced as being in active development, not much else has been shared by Rockstar Games on what the new title will be like. A giant sandbox experience is expected, but there is still no information regarding where the game will be set, or what fans expect when it comes to the story.

Another reason that this LinkedIn posting has been given extra attention is that it lists the name of the next Grand Theft Auto game as GTA 6, with Rockstar only providing this snippet of information officially: “ With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.”
