Earlier today, Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming Nations League games was announced, and it was good news for Newcastle target Jarrod Bowen.
What’s the story?
Well, it has been said that Eddie Howe is keen to bring the £22m West Ham forward to St James’ Park this summer.
Now, Bowen’s price tag may have risen a bit more, after he was named in Southgate’s 27-man squad.
It comes after the 25-year-old scored 18 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions for the Hammers this season, while also providing 13 assists.
It was an outstanding campaign for Bowen on a personal level, and his efforts even earned him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Season award.

Kevin De Bruyne was named as the eventual winner.
After hearing the news, Alan Shearer praised Bowen for receiving a maiden England call-up on Twitter.
You can see what the Newcastle legend wrote in full below.
Gary Lineker also commented on Bowen’s call-up, as the BBC Match of the Day host admitted he was “chuffed” to see the Leominster-born forward named in the squad.
Clearly, some of football’s biggest names believe Bowen thoroughly deserved his call-up, and rightly so.
Newcastle could cause chaos with Jarrod Bowen
If Howe can somehow find a way to prise Bowen away from the London Stadium, Newcastle would have a wing duo good enough to frighten most Premier League defenders.

On the opposite flank to the relentless Allan Saint-Maximin, the Magpies would cause opposition full-backs all sorts of problems if they paired the Frenchman with the England new boy.
That is without mentioning the lively Callum Wilson in the middle, who would surely thrive on the directness and creativity of his supporting acts.
Keep an eye on Bowen’s future, as we wouldn’t be surprised to see Newcastle submit a bit this summer.
