Arsenal are chasing Gabriel Jesus and may receive a boost in their pursuit of the Manchester City striker this wee as his representatives head to the UK.

Arsenal ended their season on a high by hammering Everton 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

It wasn’t enough for a top-four finish though as Tottenham were similarly ruthless in their 5-0 thumping of Norwich City.

Fans will wonder where these goals were against Tottenham and Newcastle United but it’s done now; Arsenal will be playing in the Europa League next season.

Missing out on the Champions League will impact Arsenal’s spending and pulling power this summer.

Mikel Arteta needs a new striker or two though and Arsenal still hope to sign Gabriel Jesus.

Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah may now have played their final games for Arsenal; their contracts end in a matter of weeks.

That leaves Arsenal needing a couple of strikers and Jesus is wanted.

The Athletic claim that Arsenal have been in talks for months and are hoping to bring him to North London.

Arteta worked with Jesus at Manchester City and a reunion may appeal to all.

Jesus is out of contract in 2023 and this may be City’s last chance to secure big money for the Brazilian attacker hailed as ‘fantastic’ by Pep Guardiola.

Globo Esporte back in Brazil report that Jesus has likely played his last game for City after winning the Premier League title on Sunday.

It’s stated that the striker’s representatives will arrive in England this week for talks with City and to present potential moves to Jesus.

The report states that the ‘most likely’ move is to Arsenal despite them missing out on Champions League football.

Only playing in the Europa League will not affect the deal according to Globo Esporte and Arsenal plan to make Jesus their ‘main signing’ of the summer.

City are aiming for up to €60million (£50million) for Jesus but whether Arsenal will meet those demands remains to be seen.
