Simon Grayson has posted on Instagram ‘typical’ Leeds United after they survived relegation from the Premier League.

Leeds went into the final day of the season knowing that they needed a favour from Newcastle United to survive.

If Eddie Howe’s side could get a result at Burnley, and the Yorkshire outfit could better that result at Brentford, then they would maintain their status in England’s top-flight.

The Whites provided themselves with a cushion because they opened the scoring against the Bees, whilst Burnley fell 2-0 behind.

Thomas Frank’s men did peg Leeds back, but a Jack Harrison stoppage-time goal sealed Leeds’ survival, as Burnley lost to Newcastle and their former manager had this to say on Instagram.

“Get in,” said Grayson. “Typical, Leeds United. But were are staying up.”

When the dust has settled, it is time for Leeds as a club to settle down and plan for next season because this campaign has been a near-disaster.

Lack of squad depth, their training regime and their defence needs sorting out – and the club have to back Jesse Marsch in that regard.

Some Leeds fans will worry that they might lose key players, but whatever happens, they can’t allow themselves to go into the next season with just one senior striker.

It’s crazy some of the situations the Yorkshire club found themselves in, as a bigger summer transfer market awaits them.
