Leeds United could be relegated to the Championship on Sunday afternoon, and if the Whites are to go down to the second division, things will certainly change at Elland Road.
Players will come and go, and inevitably, questions will be asked about Jesse Marsch’s job.
However, one thing that isn’t likely to change if Leeds go down is the ownership.
Indeed, while fans have often pointed the finger at Andrea Radrizzani for Leeds’ shortcomings this season and rumours of a total buyout from the San Francisco 49ers continue to do the rounds, Radrizzani has taken to Twitter to deny the idea of a takeover at the end of the season.
Radrizzani was defiant in his message. He says Leeds won’t go down and he says that Leeds won’t be taken over this summer.
This message will probably receive something of a mixed reception from Leeds fans.
On one hand, Radrizzani could probably have made some better decisions over the summer and in January in order to avoid the prospect of a relegation battle this season, but on the other hand, the Italian is probably the best owner Leeds have had this millennium.
Radrizzani helped Leeds get out of the Championship once, and we’re sure he could do it again. And if nothing else, Leeds have at least had an element of stability in the Radrizzani era when compared to their time under the likes of Massimo Cellino, Ken Bates and Peter Ridsdale.
Love him or loathe him, it seems as though Leeds United will continue to be owned by Radrizzani beyond this season, whether they stay up or go down.
