Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Michail Antonio has been discussing the idea of playing alongside Callum Wilson.

Wilson and Antonio have been hosting this podcast together all season long, and eventually, as you can imagine, the idea of the pair playing together came up in conversation.

Antonio says that he’d work well with Wilson, but he threw the breaks on the idea of moving to another club, stating that Wilson would have to come to West Ham to make this dream a reality.

What’s been said?

Antonio and Wilson discussed the idea of playing together at West Ham.

“We would complement each other, but it depends if someone is willing to take the risk, he would have to come to West Ham though,” Antonio said.

“Nah, I’m not leaving the Toon now, the place is too much. Sooner or later Michail’s legs will go, West Ham are going to have to replace him and he’ll be scrambling for a club we might need a kitman or something and he can help there on a matchday or something,” Wilson joked.

 Not a bad idea

Wilson says he doesn’t want to leave Newcastle, but there are certainly worse moves he could make right now.

Think about it, Wilson will eventually fall down the pecking order at Newcastle – they have all of the money in the world to buy some unbelievable strikers, and if he wants to prolong his top-flight career and play more football, a move to West Ham could be a good one.

He already has a great relationship with Antonio, and one thing is for sure, West Ham need a striker.

The pair were only joking about the idea, but perhaps this is one David Moyes should look into.
