According to Football London, Tottenham Hotspur hold an active interest in both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Gabriel Jesus.
Tottenham have arguably the best striker in the world in their ranks in the shape of Harry Kane, but now, they want to land another number nine, but as ever, there are complications with these two potential deals.
Jesus is set to leave Manchester City this summer, and while Spurs are keen, the striker is reportedly in talks with Arsenal about a move.
However, according to Football London, Spurs’ late charge for the Champions League that has seen Tottenham leapfrog Arsenal could affect the Brazilian’s plans.
As for Calvert-Lewin, the English striker would be a fantastic addition to this Spurs squad. After all, he’s previously been described as a ‘great athlete’ and he would give this team a whole new dimension as a backup to Harry Kane.
However, that’s where the problem lies.
Calvert-Lewin, understandably, isn’t keen to join a club where he’d be a second-string striker, and with Kane competing with him at Spurs, it’s hard to imagine he’d be playing much football at all if he joined Antonio Conte’s squad.
Arsenal, once again, are interested in Calvert-Lewin, and that may be a more appealing option for the Everton star. After all, the Gunners won’t have a single recognised number nine in the squad come the end of the season as Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah’s contracts expire.
Spurs may be keen on Jesus and Calvert-Lewin, but despite their recent triumphs over Arsenal, it looks as though both players are more likely to head to the Gunners.
