Corriere Dello Sport say Lazio could sign Liverpool ace Takumi Minamino. The Serie A side have struck a shirt sponsorship deal with Chinese-founded Crypto company Binance, and may look to extend Asian commerce.
Minamino, 27, is set to enter the final two years of his contract at Anfield – after joining the club in January 2020. He is struggling for game time under Jurgen Klopp, despite the Reds boss calling his lack of minutes a “crime”.
The Japan international got his first Premier League start of the season on Tuesday night, and scored in a 2-1 win over Southampton. Starting just nine of his 24 outings this term, he has still scored 10 goals.
CDS say that after a shirt-sponsorship deal with Binance, Lazio are exploring ways of opening up commerce in Asia and Minamino could help do that. It is unclear how much Liverpool would want for the playmaker.
Lazio could sign Liverpool ace Minamino: Good move for Reds man
The future of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Lazio’s fan favourite, is in doubt. Tottenham are among his interested parties and Maurizio Sarri said this week that if he is to go, he will leave Serie A. He will need replacing.
A player branded “phenomenal” by Adam Lallana this week, Minamino has never been given a fair chance. A loan to Southampton saw him struggle with injury. He needs to go, and Lazio would be a really good move for him.
It all depends on the price. Liverpool bought Minamino for less than £8million and while he has warmed the bench, he would surely cost double that. Lazio do have cash, but it is whether they feel he is worth it.
