Liverpool are interested in signing Jobe Bellingham but Newcastle United have joined them in the race for the Birmingham City teenager.

Bellingham’s name is instantly recognisable but more for his brother Jude, who is shining at Borussia Dortmund.

Now one of the most exciting midfielders in Europe, Jude started out with Birmingham just like Jobe.

Jobe will now hope to follow in Jude’s footsteps and has hit five goals in just nine Under-18 Premier League games this season.

Bellingham, 16, has also played 13 games in Premier League 2 this season.

Add in a couple of Championship appearances and it looks like Bellingham’s development is going well at Birmingham.

An attack-minded midfielder just like his older brother, Bellingham could also end up making a big move away from Birmingham.

Liverpool are interested in signing Jobe Bellingham

We’re used to seeing Jude Bellingham being linked with Liverpool but it’s his brother Jobe on the Anfield radar this time.

The Mirror report that Liverpool are among the early frontrunners to sign Bellingham.

Birmingham want to get Bellingham tied down to scholarship terms and are promising him a bright future at St Andrews.

Birmingham know that Bellingham could leave though and Liverpool are keen to add him to their ranks.

That could be a tactic to help convince Jude Bellingham to join one day, but they likely just rate Jobe highly too.

The problem for Liverpool is that they aren’t alone in chasing Bellingham.

Manchester City and Newcastle United also want to sign Bellingham and are fighting Liverpool for the 16-year-old.

Liverpool will hope that their recent recruitment of young players like Ben Doak and Fabio Carvalho helps convince more and more teenagers to head to Anfield.

Bellingham fits the bill and Liverpool would no doubt love to beat City to his signature in the near future.
