Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ryan Sessegnon has told The Mirror that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have the advantage in the race for the Premier League top four this season.

However, Sessegnon, who can also operate as a left-winger and has been playing as a left wing-back under head coach Antonio Conte this season, has said that Tottenham have the momentum.

Tottenham beat Arsenal in the North London derby on Thursday evening.

Spurs are now fifth in the Premier League table with 65 points from 36 matches.

Arsenal are currently fourth with 66 points from 36 games.

Sessegnon – who cost Spurs £25 million in the summer of 2019, according to BBC Sport – told The Mirror: “Arsenal still have the advantage. They’re one point ahead. You could say the momentum is with us after the great win on Thursday but that’s done now.”

Exciting

In our opinion, the race for the Premier League top four between Arsenal and Tottenham will go down to the wire.

Spurs do have the more favourable fixtures, but Arsenal are a point clear.

That could prove to be key in the end.

Tottenham did play well against Arsenal, and the win in the North London derby will have certainly enhanced the players’ confidence.

However, Arsenal will be determined to bounce back from the defeat in the North London derby, and we should not be surprised if they win their final two Premier League games this season.
