‘This is a big worry’: BBC pundit really concerned by £34m Liverpool player

Jermaine Jenas has said on BBC Sport that the injury suffered by Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium is a “big worry”.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was on co-commentary duty for the FA Cup final between Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool on BBC Sport on Saturday.

Egypt international forward Salah started the match, but the £34 million star (BBC Sport) had to be taken off in the first half due to injury.

Jenas said on BBC Sport: “This is a big worry, Salah is not the type of player who just takes a seat.

“He plays a lot of games, a lot of minutes, he’s had a long season – I know most Liverpool players have but chuck the African Cup of Nations into that as well.”

Worry

We have to make it clear that at this stage, we do not know the extent of the injury that Mohamed Salah suffered during Liverpool’s FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday.

However, it does look bad, as Salah could not continue.

It appeared to be a groin problem.

It will be interesting to see what Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says about the injury to Salah.

The Reds are aiming to win the Premier League title this season, and the Merseyside club will also face Real Madrid in the Champions League final later this month.

Liverpool need Salah fit.
