A new NSFW statue figurine of Yor from Spy x Family is dividing fans as its “Luxury” option features a nude version of the popular character.

As any fan understands, the figurine and model statue industry is vitally important to the wider anime and manga industry; providing a level of fan support, income and engagement that serves to only aid a particular series or franchise.

However, in the world of model statues and figurines, NSFW and ‘lewd’ versions can often be a sticky talking point, with some fans accepting them as a part of the community whilst others argue their expletive nature is rather crass.

This week, a new NSFW statue of Yor is going viral around the world, as Spy x Family fans argue the merits of the figurine and its hefty price tag.

The statue will launch in Fall 2022, but a specific release window for the figurine has not yet been shared. However, there are Deposit payment options available on GAC and Favor GK for both versions that show significant reductions in total cost.

Reaction to NSFW Yor statue is certainly mixed

The reaction online to the new Spy x Family statue of Yor has certainly been met with a mixed response from fans – as many NSFW figurines often do in the modern anime community.

On the one hand, you have some fans praising the design and Luxury option, stating “anyone want to lend me a mere 320 for a yor statue LOOK AT HER!!!!”

“If i see another Yor Forger (Spy x Family) nude figure in my Timeline I’m gonna loose it” – User SushiSmells, via Twitter.

On the other hand, you have other members of the community asking whether the NSFW version was really necessary, with one user simply putting how it’s “too bad [they are] to release erotic figurines before real stylist figures finally [get] good.”

“So atlas studio makes a Spy X Family figure and decides to make a variant with Yor literally naked but really I’m just shocked that’s rubbish.” – User RopeSunny, via Twitter.

As noted by YouTuber Goken, the speed at which companies can produce and distribute figurines like the new NSFW Yor statue is impressive.

“The speed in which these cultured artists can just throw out these figures, statues, whatever you want to call them, is just insane. So I woke up to this tweet and I don’t know, I shouldn’t even be surprised anymore.” – Goken, via YouTube.

A week of NSFW figurine announcements

As many avid Twitter users will have surely come across, the NSFW figurine of Yor is not the only questionable anime statue being recently revealed.

Last week, Banana Studio announced their next figurine of Eren from Attack on Titan. Whilst the pose and general design of the statue isn’t anything to cause major controversy, it’s the removable towel feature that has raised eyebrows.

However, eyebrows aren’t the only thing getting raised with the NSFW Eren figurine, with ‘flaccid’ and ‘erect’ options also reportedly available.

Manga sales continue to pass new milestones

As the Spy x Family anime adaptation continues to rise in popularity around the world, the original manga series is also showing significant improvements in its global sales figures.

In fact, on April 7th, just two days before the anime premiered, it was revealed that 15 million copies of the manga were in circulation.

Then, only 10 days later, that number was increased to 16 million copies – and then to 17 million copies by the end of the month, including one million copies in France alone.

This week, after the release of episode 5 “Will They Pass or Fail”, it was shared that the manga has now surpassed a fantastic 18 million copies worldwide!
