Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are on the verge of signing Marquinhos from Sao Paulo, according to reports from Brazil.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Jorge Nicola has reported on Yahoo! that Brazilian winger has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal, including the length of the contract.
Another well-known journalist, Andre Hernan, has reported on Youtube that Sao Paulo officials are certain that Marquinhos is going to Arsenal after accepting the Gunners’ bid for the 19-year-old winger.
As we covered here on HITC Sport, Globo Esporte have reported that Arsenal’s bid for Marquinhos has been accepted.
Arsenal will reportedly pay €3.5 million (£2.97m) for the Brazilian right-winger.

Marquinhos is one for the future for Arsenal
In our opinion, Arsenal are signing Marquinhos with a view to the future and not to make an immediate impact.
After all, Marquinhos is only 19.
It is not easy for a teenager to successfully make the transition from Brazilian football to the Premier League.
It takes times, and we think that Arsenal will be fully aware of it.
Sport Witness have reported that Arsenal could send Marquinhos out on loan for next season, possibly to a Spanish club.
Now, that would not be a bad idea at all.
Spending a year in Spain could help Marquinhos get to grips with European football, and that could help him at Arsenal in the long run.
