Is Sadio Mane leaving Liverpool?
Well some recent speculation certainly indicates that the Senegal international might well call it a day at Anfield this summer.
Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in the Liverpool superstar and according to a Sky Germany journalist, the 30-year-old’s representatives even met with the Bundesliga giants for talks as recently as last weekend.
Mane has been an utter monster for the Reds since joining for £30 million in 2016.
But this is particularly true over the past five months, when he has scored a lot of vital goals as Jurgen Klopp’s side battle for an unprecedented quadruple.
On Tuesday night, Mane scored a wonderful improvised header as Liverpool secured a come-from-behind victory away to Aston Villa to keep alive their Premier League title ambitions.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Jamie Carragher has insisted that he’s certain Mane won’t be going anywhere.
He told Sky Sports: “I’m a huge fan of Sadio Mane and I can assure you he will be going nowhere because I will not let him go to Bayern Munich, he’d have me to deal with!”
Is Sadio Mane leaving Liverpool?
Well Carragher certainly doesn’t believe it, but he isn’t an authorative source unfortunately.
Clearly he’s a Liverpool legend and will still have a lot of connections inside Kirkby, but ultimately this will be Mane’s decision and it isn’t unthinkable to believe he’d want another challenge elsewhere, irrespective what happens with this quadruple effort.
The former Southampton attacker, like Mohamed Salah, is out of contract on Merseyside next summer and the longer we go without concrete progression regarding an extension, the more Liverpool will be under pressure during the upcoming transfer window.
The Reds’ fanbase could and should be scared by this recent Bayern speculation and although Carragher is very relaxed, Klopp himself might not be.
