Michael Owen has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Last season’s Premier League champions Manchester City have announced that they will sign Haaland from Dortmund in the summer transfer window.

As stated on City’s official website, the Citizens have ‘reached an agreement in principle’ with Dortmund over the transfer of the Norway international striker.

“The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player,” adds the statement.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen has given his take on Twitter on Haaland moving to City.

Big deal

In our opinion, Manchester City signing Haaland is a massive statement from the Premier League leaders.

Haaland is one of the best strikers on the planet and is world class, and City bringing the 21-year-old to the Etihad Stadium shows their pulling power.

That the striker thinks that he will develop the most at City under manager Pep Guardiola suggests that the footballing landscape is changing.

Now, of course, City have not won the Champions League and do not have as many fans across the world as the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Barcelona do, but there is no doubt that they are a force to be reckoned with in football, and have been so for a number of years now.

City have one of the best attacking units in the world, and Haaland is going to make them even more potent.

Perhaps unstoppable.

Haaland has scored 21 goals and given seven assists in the Bundesliga and three goals in the Champions League this season.
