Micah Richards has responded on Instagram to the news that Manchester City have confirmed they have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund over the signing of Erling Haaland. A deal is subject to personal terms.
Haaland, 21, is considered one of the next-best players in the world after a whopping 85 goals in 88 games for Borussia Dortmund. But ever since joining Dortmund from Salzburg, he has had a release clause in his deal.
Indeed, the Norway international is set to join City for a fee Fabrizio Romano reports to be just £51million – £12million less than the previously reported £63million. Romano also states a medical has been completed.
Manchester City confirmed the huge news on Twitter, informing fans that an agreement has been made with Dortmund for the transfer of Haaland. It sees him follow in his Father Alf-Inge’s footsteps, having played for City.
Richards responds as Manchester City confirm Haaland signing
Speculation over Haaland’s future has been rife. Numerous reports suggested the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid were also keen. But Chelsea have Romelu Lukaku.
Manchester United are in dismay and Leeds-born Haaland was never going to Old Trafford – given his Father and agent played for City and Leeds. The Etihad seemed like the only reasonably accurate destination for Haaland.
Richards responded to Sky Sports on Instagram, who reported the news, with a two-word comment: “It’s time”.
