Leeds United are interested in signing Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Leeds have already enquired about securing the services of Clarke-Salter.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at Chelsea this summer, but last season’s European champions have the option to extend his deal for another 12 months.

Sheffield United have also enquired about the defender, according to the report, which has added that Dutch giants PSV are also keen on him as well.

Clarke-Salter spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Coventry City, and their manager Mark Robins has described him as “absolutely outstanding”, as quoted in The Sun.

Jake Clarke-Salter would be a good signing for Leeds

In our opinion, Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter would be a good signing for Leeds in the summer transfer window, especially if the Whites get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Diego Llorente has had injury problems, and Liam Cooper is not getting any younger.

Clarke-Salter made 27 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for Coventry this season.

It is unlikely that Chelsea will want to keep the defender if they get a good offer, and Leeds having reportedly enquired about him shows how keen they are on securing his services.
