Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will have to pay £70 million to sign Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

Arsenal target Neves available for £70m

The report has claimed that Wolves are willing to sell Neves for £70 million, and that the midfielder himself would prefer to stay in the Premier League if he leaves the Wanderers.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus and Barcelona have been named as interested clubs in the report.

The Daily Mail have also quoted Wolves boss Bruno Lage as saying that 25-year-old Portugal international midfielder Neves is worth more than £100 million, but the Wanderers are willing to do business for £70 million.

90min reported last month that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs interested in signing Neves, described as “a top, top player” and “sensational” by former Manchester United star Gary Neville on Sky Sports Premier League (7:29pm, March 18, 2022).

Could a transfer happen?

In our opinion, if Arsenal finish in the Premier League top four this season, then they could well pay the £70 million needed to sign Neves.

We saw last summer that the Gunners do not hesitate to pay big bucks for players they want.

After all, Arsenal paid £50 million for Ben White.

So, in our view, if Arsenal get back in the Champions League and are determined to sign Neves, then they will get a deal done.
