Rob Holding is something of an unsung hero at Arsenal these days.
Due to Gabriel and Ben White being fit for most of the season, the former Bolton Wanderers defender has been a spectator for a lot of the campaign.
But when he has played for Arsenal – particularly in the Premier League – Holding has been immense.
Last week, he was sensational in the gripping 2-1 victory away to West Ham United, with Football London giving him an 8/10 for his performance, with Paul Merson particularly complimentary.
However, he could be getting dropped by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta in the visit of Leeds United tomorrow.
The only reason Holding played last week was because of an injury to White.
But speaking to Football London, Arteta confirmed that the former Brighton central defender was in contention to return against the Elland Road club on Sunday.
Therefore, it’s probable that the Spanish manager will axe Holding, despite his heroics last week.
As good as Holding appears to be under Arteta, White and Gabriel is a proven partnership in the Premier League and with Champions League qualification at stake, the Arsenal boss will play the percentages and stick to what he knows and loves against United.
