The Arsenal legend believes that it is “great” that the Gunners have decided to hand Arteta a new deal.
The BBC Sport pundit is also pleased that Arsenal have handed Arsenal Women Football Club manager Jonas Eidevall a new contract as well.

As announced on Arsenal’s official website this morning, Arteta has put pen to paper on a new deal which will see him stay at the Emirates Stadium until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Eidevall has signed a contract to the end of the 2023/24 season.
In our opinion, Arsenal should have waited until the end of the season to announce a new contract for Arteta.
Yes, the Gunners are doing well under the Spaniard, but the season is not over yet.
Arsenal may not finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Handing Arteta a new deal at the end of the season would have been better and would have sent a clear message that even if the Gunners do not end up in the Champions League places, the club are still backing him.
