Arsenal are interested in signing Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus this summer – and Manchester United’s Ralf Rangnick has offered some praise.
The Gunners are desperately chasing at least two striker signings this summer with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both out of contract.
A host of names have already been linked with joining Arsenal and one of the prime options appears to be Jesus.
The Athletic claim that Arsenal have been chasing Jesus for months and are now favourites to sign him.
Football London have since added that Arsenal are planning to offer around £35million to sign Jesus this summer.
Mikel Arteta knows Jesus well having been Manchester City’s assistant coach before taking the Arsenal job in 2019.
Edu is understood to have great ties to Jesus’s representatives and Arsenal appear to have real hope of a deal.
City are not only poised to sign Erling Haaland but are set to see Jesus enter the final year of his contract this summer.
That’s why selling up now may make sense and Arsenal will hope to get Jesus snapped up.
The Brazilian is in great form at the moment though having racked up seven goals and two assists in his last six games.
That may allow City to hike up the asking price for Jesus but hopefully only after he has helped them win the Premier League title.

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has now commented on Jesus whilst discussing the Red Devils’ striking options.
Rangnick has told the London Evening Standard that he thinks United need to match Liverpool and City in having five or six ‘top-class’ strikers.
Rangnick used Jesus as an example of a top-class striker who can come in from the cold and score regularly when given the chance.
Rangnick clearly feels United need a player like Jesus, but Arsenal will have confidence that he will end up in North London.
“If you look at Liverpool and Manchester City… they have five or six top-class strikers,” said Rangnick. “Gabriel Jesus, until four weeks ago, hardly played [for City]. Now he’s playing again regularly. You look at the number of players they have and if you ask me is he playing as central striker or winger? Is Jack Grealish a winger or striker?”
“They’re all strikers and can play in different positions. They can also switch, they can rotate. Those kinds of players, we don’t have that many,” he added.
