According to Tutto Mercato Web, Tottenham have scheduled an end-of-season meeting with Pierluigi Gollini to discuss his future.

What’s the story?

Well, things haven’t been easy for the Italian in north London, since he arrived from Atalanta on a season-long loan back in August.

Gollini – who Tottenham have an option to buy for €15m (£13m) – has made just ten appearances in all competitions, as he deputises for Hugo Lloris.

The 27-year-old has been frustrated with life under Antonio Conte, and it was even said that he is determined to leave N17 at the end of the season due to the Italian’s treatment of him.

Now, Spurs have planned talks with Gollini in an attempt to change his mind.

Tutto Mercato Web believe Tottenham want the Bologna-born glovesman on loan for another season, although they face competition from other Italian clubs.

In our view, there’s no point in keeping Gollini if he wants to leave.

In truth, he hasn’t exactly stood out in his ten appearances for Spurs, so we also feel Fabio Paratici could find a better backup to Lloris.

Ideally, Tottenham will find someone capable of filling in for the Frenchman, but also someone who can step into his shoes in the long-term.

Lloris turns 36 in December, and in our view, it’s time for Conte to start phasing him out of the first-team slowly.

Athletic Bilbao shot-stopper Unai Simon is said to be on Tottenham’s shortlist, while West Brom glovesman Sam Johnstone is as well.

In fact, one report revealed that Spurs think they will beat Everton to the England international’s signature.

However, if that was true, then why would Tottenham want to keep Gollini?

There are plenty of question marks over the goalkeeping department at Spurs, and only time will tell what happens this summer.
