Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes is wanted by Juventus – and midfielder Arthur Melo could be offered in exchange by the Italian giants.
That’s according to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims that Juventus are looking to replace veteran leader Giorgio Chiellini.
Juventus are unsurprisingly seeking another left-sided centre back to take over from Chiellini.
One of the top targets is Gabriel, who fits what Juventus are looking for perfectly. Arsenal aren’t particularly interested in selling though.
Juventus will still attempt to enter negotiations and may try to engineer a swap deal with the Gunners.
Juventus allegedly know that Arsenal are interested in signing a number of their players and will attempt to use that to their advantage.
It’s reported that one player who could be offered up is Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo given that Arsenal were chasing him in January.
Arsenal were desperate for midfield additions and Edu was really keen to bring his fellow Brazilian Arthur to North London.
The Athletic reported that Edu did actually agree an 18-month loan deal for Arthur. That move included a £33.5million permanent option.
However, other decision-makers at Arsenal weren’t happy with that deal and actually vetoed the move.

Juventus haven’t been utilising Arthur prominently, starting him just 10 times in Serie A. Antonio Cassano has slammed Massimiliano Allegri for not using such a ‘sensational’ player.
Juve struck a deal worth £66million for Arthur in 2020, though that was offset by sending Miralem Pjanic to Barcelona for £55million in exchange.
The Brazilian hasn’t quite hit top form in Italy though and could now be presented to Arsenal.
Edu may be tempted to finally bring Arthur to Arsenal after all, but he surely wouldn’t do it in exchange for Gabriel, a player who has taken a major leap forward this season.
