Don Hutchison has praised Liverpool midfielder James Milner on Twitter for his tackle on Fabian Schar in the build-up to the goal for Naby Keita against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

Liverpool midfielder Keita scored for Liverpool in the 19th minute of the Premier League game against Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Guinea international midfielder found the ball on the right and showed great composure to dribble across goal and then fired it home past Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

However, it was a controversial goal.

That’s because in the build-up to the goal, former Newcastle midfielder Milner dived into a tackle and appeared to catch Schar.

No foul was given and the goal stood for Liverpool, much to the frustration of the Newcastle players.

Former Liverpool and Sunderland midfielder Hutchison was following the match, and he believes that it was an “outstanding” tackle from Milner.
