Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has raved about Takehiro Tomiyasu to Football.London and seems to rate the right-back highly.
Arteta has said that Tomiyasu has been brilliantly coached, which is why he is able to use both feet.
The 23-year-old has been playing as a right-back for Arsenal this season, but the Japan international can also operate as a centre-back.
Arsenal Technical Director Edu signed Tomiyasu from Bologna in the summer of 2021 for £19.8 million (Sky Sports).
Mikel Arteta on Arsenal right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu
Arteta told Football.London about Tomiyasu: “When we followed the player it was something that came across.
“He gives you a lot of solutions, not only because he’s two footed but he can play anywhere on the backline.
“It’s the way he’s been coached that’s what he says so for him left and right is the same.”

Important player
In our opinion, Tomiyasu is an important player for Arsenal and has been superb for the Gunners this season.
The right-back is very good defensively and in going on the attack.
He is very balanced.
The Arsenal no. 18 has made 16 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season.
Tomiyasu has given one assist in those games.
Arsenal are in a great position to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
For the Gunners to achieve that quest, Tomiyasu will have to play a big role.
We think that Tomiyasu is a gem of a player, and let us not forget that he is still only 23.
