Jarrod Bowen has lavished praise upon Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah, claiming that his off-the-ball work is second to none.
The West Ham United winger has been linked with a transfer to Liverpool.
According to 90 Min, the Reds could look to lure the 25-year-old to Anfield this summer, having also been heavily linked with a Merseyside switch during the winter transfer window.
A right-sided attacker, like Salah, Bowen has told CNN that he couldn’t help but notice the Egypt international’s work rate when West Ham faced Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.
He said: “I think that the goals he (Salah) scores, you know, when he gets a chance, nine times out of 10 it’s in the back of the net,” said Bowen
“The work he does off the ball as well. When we played against them, I wasn’t watching him when I was playing because that would be wrong to say, but I noticed the work he does off the ball.”
Bowen’s an excellent player and one who is simply massive for the Hammers.
But there’s little chance of him going to Liverpool.
As mentioned, the former Hull City attacker plays in the same position as Salah and that would mean that somebody in the Reds’ hierarchy believes that he can ultimately fill the void left by the Egyptian sensation at some point.
However, that’s incredibly unlikely.
Fifteen goals in 45 appearances across all competitions suggests Bowen is a good player, but ‘good’ doesn’t cut it at Liverpool.
Under Klopp, you need to be simply exceptional and it seems improbable that the English star will ever reach that footing, regardless who his manager is.
