Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter to react after The Times revealed that Liverpool are planning to step up contract talks with Jürgen Klopp.
What’s the story?
Well, if this happened, it would be a seismic piece of news for Liverpool.
The Times believe Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have received enough encouragement from Klopp to accelerate talks over a new deal.
Previously, the German admitted he would see if he had the energy to stay at Anfield beyond June 2024, when his current terms expire.
Now, it appears that FSG believe they can convince him to remain on Merseyside, and Carragher seems overjoyed by the rumour emerging from Anfield.
You can see what the 44-year-old posted on Twitter below.
However, there is still a long way to go until anything is agreed.
In October, it will be seven years since Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers, following a brief sabbatical after a seven-year period at Borussia Dortmund.
The German needed a break after his time at the Signal Iduna Park, and it’s possible that he takes another rest when his contract expires in 2024.
Jürgen Klopp should stay at Liverpool

In our view, Klopp should stay at Liverpool until he retires.
It’s highly unlikely that the 54-year-old creates something as special as he has now anywhere else, so he might as well stay and further strengthen his foundations at Liverpool.
There is money to spend on Europe’s most exciting talent, and the academy at Kirkby has also proven itself capable of churning out gems with world class ability, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The foundations are there to compete at the highest level for many years.
Klopp has also positioned himself well to become the greatest manager in Liverpool’s history, something he would surely like to achieve.
Keep an eye on this saga, as a shock announcement could happen anytime.
