The Golden Kamuy manga series is reaching its climax, ending the incredible story with the release of chapter 314 later today.

All good things must come to an end, that’s the mentality of every manga fan in the world who enjoys reading the latest series from magazines around the world.

Unfortunately, one of the most iconic manga series of the past few years is finally about to reach its conclusion this week…Golden Kamuy.

The manga is set to release its latest and final instalment later on today, April 28th, with fans from all walks of life preparing to say their goodbyes as Golden Kamuy marks its ending.

Golden Kamuy manga to end with chapter 314

Fans of the Golden Kamuy series have known that the manga would be entering its final arc for a while. In fact, the first rumours that Golden Kamuy would be starting its climactic story arc began circulating online back in July 2021 as claimed by popular leaker MangaMoguraRE on Twitter.

Unfortunately, the rumours were proven true, with a recent announcement confirming in early April that the series only had three chapters remaining; chapters 312-314.

“The series had reportedly entered into its final arc in July 2021 and will finally conclude before the end of the month, ending the story of Saichi Sugimoto, the region of Hokkaido and its indigenous people, the Ainu.” – Crunchyroll News.

Chapter 314 is scheduled to release worldwide in the combined Weekly Young Jump magazine for issues 22 and 23, set to launch on Thursday, April 28th.

The official Japanese Golden Kamuy Twitter account revealed that the series would feature on both the cover and top colour pages for the combined issue.

“It’s been about 8 years since I ran around, and the final episode 314 is being posted! The finale of the gold nugget battle, and the end of the journey toward the future Please see it till the end !!” – Kamuy Official, via Twitter.

An exceptional legacy, if this is indeed the end

The Golden Kamuy series has been a staple of the manga and anime industry since its debut back in 2015. If chapter 314 is indeed the final instalment in the main series and we don’t get a spin-off series, the Golden Kamuy has an exceptional legacy to be proud of.

By December 2021, it was revealed that the series had sold more than 18 million copies and incredibly, the manga surpassed 19 million circulated copies earlier this month!

29 complete volumes have been published in Japan, with the 30th and final Tankobon volume set to release domestically on June 17th, 2022.

The series is then released in English by Viz Media, but sadly only 25 of those volumes have yet been published – volume 26 is set to launch on May 17th, 2022.

Fans of the series can purchase physical copies of the manga through Amazon, Book Depository, Waterstones and Bookshop. Digital versions can be found on Google Play, iBooks, Kindle and Barnes & Noble; or directly through Viz.

Interestingly, Golden Kamuy is currently sitting as the 9th most-popular and 4th highest-rated manga series in the Young Jump Magazine’s history on MyAnimeList.

Anime to return in October 2022

The good news for fans of the Golden Kamuy manga series will understandably be saddened by the conclusion of the manga, but many are looking ahead to the return of the anime adaptation.

Season 4 of Golden Kamuy was announced in December 2021, but the big news was that the production studio would be changing from Geno Studio to Brain’s Base.

The fourth instalment of the Golden Kamuy anime adaptation is set to premiere in October 2022 on the Fall broadcasting slate.
