The Premier League season is slowly drawing to a close, yet unlike other years, many awards such as the Golden Boot and the Golden Glove are yet to be fully decided.

Whilst Mohamed Salah leads the scoring charts quite comfortably, his Liverpool teammate Alisson Becker sits just one clean sheet ahead of Manchester City star Ederson Moraes, with the two sides also battling it out for the Premier League title.

Indeed, it has been an unusual year for goalkeepers which has contained some incredible moments of quality and slip-ups to forget, yet today, we want to focus on those who have been the cream of the crop in the top-flight this campaign.

From a future England number one to arguably the most underrated signing of the season, we take a look at five keepers who have stood apart from the rest in the Premier League this campaign.

Alisson Becker (Liverpool)

As mentioned, Alisson currently leads the Golden Glove award, with the Liverpool shot-stopper once again having a season to remember for the Reds as Jurgen Klopp’s side looks to win only their second-ever Premier League title.

A keeper who many predict to become an Anfield legend and one of the best keepers to ever play in the Premier League, Alisson has been spectacular for the Reds this campaign, and the former AS Roma star would be a worthy winner of the Golden Glove award.

David De Gea (Manchester United)

It might seem crazy to include David De Gea in this list given Manchester United’s horrendous defensive record this season, but when even the ever-honest Ralf Rangnick is saying that goalkeeper is the one position he wouldn’t change at the club, then the Spaniard is doing something right.

Likely to be named United’s Player of the Season, again, De Gea has kept United from further embarrassment this season in more ways than one, and the shot-stopper will likely remain the club’s number one next campaign under Erik Ten Hag as one of the few Red Devils players to not lose their spot in the squad.

Like Alisson, Ederson has a shout of winning the Golden Glove award if City can remain watertight at the back for the remainder of the season, with the former Benfica star having an impressive campaign.

His last-second clearance against Liverpool from Diogo Jota showed just how confident Ederson is in his abilities, and with the Golden Glove race going down to the wire in the Premier League, the Brazilian will be hoping to beat his countryman to the award.

Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal)

Where do we even start with Aaron Ramsdale? A £30m signing last summer that was slammed by everyone, Mikel Arteta’s risk has paid off big time, with the 23-year-old a potential England number one and the youngster elevating his game to an impressive level.

Ramsdale’s save against James Maddison looks set to win save of the season, and whilst clean sheets have been lacking in recent months, the Arsenal star has proven to be an incredible addition to the squad both on and off the field.

Ramsdale will likely be viewed by many as the goalkeeping signing of the summer, but if we’re being honest, that honour should fall to Wolves star Jose Sa, who has been quite the revelation at Molineux this campaign.

Tasked with replacing Rui Patricio, the former Olympiacos star has managed that and more, with Sa statistically the best keeper in the Premier League this season in terms of expected goals denied and save percentage, something Wolves fans will be hopeful the 29-year-old can continue into next season under Bruno Lage.
