Pep Guardiola has made it clear that ‘the most important thing’ for Manchester City now is their clash with Leeds, after their seven-goal thriller in the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
It was an entertaining yet draining evening for the Spaniard, who when asked about the second leg in Madrid, he simply responded by saying now it’s time for ‘wine, rest and Leeds’, as he told his post-match interview.
On one hand, Leeds fans would have been watching yesterday’s game with popcorn in their hand because it was pure entertainment.
But, on the other, they aren’t probably looking forward to facing this relentless Man City side pushing to win both the Premier League and the Champions League this season.
Nonetheless, after Man City and Real Madrid produced one of the best games the Champions League has ever seen, this is what Guardiola had to say after the game.
“Now, it’s wine, rest and Leeds,” said Guardiola. “Leeds United, this is the most important thing.
“After, we will travel to Spain. We are going to see the game and see what we can improve. And try to do it.”

Manchester City put seven goals past Leeds the last time the two met, but that was a period of time when the Yorkshire club were really struggling.
With Marcelo Bielsa in the dugout, at the time, the Whites were conceding a stupid number of goals and sliding down the Premier League table.
It was one of many results and performances that led to Bielsa heading for the exit door and being replaced by Jesse Marsch.
As the American has proven since he has joined the club, he has been able to secure the clean sheets, including against Crystal Palace on Monday night.
But they face a different kettle of fish against the current Premier League champions at the weekend, regardless of whether Guardiola makes changes or not.
