According to The Sun, Sebastien Haller could now follow Erik ten Hag to Manchester United, after leaving West Ham in January 2021.

What’s the story?

Well, David Moyes sold the Ivory Coast international to Ajax for £20.25m in January 2021, accepting a big loss to offload the striker.

Haller became West Ham’s club-record signing in July 2019 after arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth £45m.

Unfortunately, the 27-year-old struggled at the London Stadium, scoring just 14 goals in 54 games.

Interestingly, Haller has since admitted that he’s glad he left east London, and doesn’t regret it whatsoever.

The towering frontman also admitted to feeling “trapped” under Moyes.

That was strikingly evident, as Michail Antonio was preferred up front while Haller often looked uncomfortable when he did get onto the pitch.

Now, however, Haller could join Ten Hag at Old Trafford, with Ajax valuing their No.22 at £35m – a figure which the Red Devils can afford.

So far this season, the Ivorian has remarkably scored 33 goals in 39 appearances, while also providing nine assists under Ten Hag’s guidance.

Manchester United could embarrass West Ham

In our view, it would be quite embarrassing for West Ham if Haller became a Premier League sensation at Manchester United.

It would suggest that Moyes gave up on him far too quickly, something that already feels quite applicable given his stunning form for Ajax.

Hopefully, it teaches the Hammers a thing or two.

Surely, Haller should’ve only been allowed to leave on loan first, just in case his value shot up at Ajax, which it now has.

West Ham only received £20m, for a player who – in our view – has now restored himself to the £45m player sold by Eintracht Frankfurt.

For their sake, the Irons are surely hoping this move doesn’t materialise, just in case they’re embarrassed by Manchester United.
