Wilfried Zaha has posted on Instagram ‘people will speak on your life no matter what you do’ following Crystal Palace’s 0-0 draw against Leeds United on Monday night.
It was an interesting evening for Zaha at Selhurst Park because, after the game, he drew criticism from Leeds midfielder, Kalvin Phillips.
The Leeds man accused Zaha of diving ‘a lot’ during the game after he won a number of fouls.
Since then, Zaha has posted this interesting message on his Instagram, which appears to be a dig at those comments.
In truth, in the game itself, Zaha enjoyed a great battle on the left channel against Luke Ayling and there were occasions when they were doubling up on him.
The fouls that were awarded to the player throughout the game were standard fouls and nothing that should really be questioned.
But why Phillips feels the need to call Zaha out when there was nothing out of the ordinary that he did.
In truth, the England midfielder should look closer to home because a certain Patrick Bamford was charged for diving during Leeds’ infamous 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in the Championship.
Bamford deceived the referee by getting Anwar El Ghazi sent off, despite the Villa winger not even laying a finger on the Leeds player.
Either way, wherever Zaha goes, he attracts this kind of attention and his all-action style is what makes him one of the entertainers in the Premier League.
