Newcastle United are interested in signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.
The report has claimed that Newcastle are planning to make a bid of £30 million for the Tottenham midfielder.
Tottenham could reportedly let the Denmark international midfielder leave if the offer is right and they can find a replacement.
AS Roma are also claimed to be interested in Hojbjerg, who cost Tottenham £15 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Southampton in the summer of 2020 (The Mirror).
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg would make Newcastle better
In our opinion, Hojbjerg would be a brilliant signing for Newcastle and would make Eddie Howe’s side better and stronger in the middle of the park.

The 26-year-old is a very strong and combative midfielder who can hold his own in the middle of the park and was described as “fantastic” by Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte in Football.London earlier this month.
Hojbjerg would be able to form a strong partnership with Bruno Guimaraes in the Newcastle midfield and make it hard for the opposition in the middle of the park.
However, if Tottenham finish in the Premier League top four this season, then, in our view, Hojbjerg may not be too keen on moving to a Newcastle side who are unlikely to challenge for the Champions League places anytime soon.
