Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Divock Origi on the club’s official website following his heroics against Everton.

Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Everton 2-0 at Anfield in the Merseyside derby on Sunday.

Belgium international striker Divock Origi scored the second goal in the Premier League game in the 85th minute.

And Klopp was impressed by the £10 million striker (BBC Sport).

Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool’s Divock Origi

Klopp told Liverpool’s official website about Origi: “He’s a legend on and off the pitch, I have to say. That’s how it is. He is a fantastic footballer, for me, and I know that sounds ridiculous because I don’t line him up often.

“He is a world-class striker, he is our best finisher, definitely; he always was and everybody would say the same.

“When you see him doing these kinds of things in training and then he is not in the squad because of the quality of the other players, that is really hard.

“I can imagine today again, other players were not in the squad, they are in a really good shape, they are really hard decisions to make because the boys all want to contribute and all are responsible for the situation we are in. Div, everybody loves Div and rightly so. He was again very decisive and I’m very, very happy for him.”

Anfield exit this summer

In our opinion, despite Klopp’s praise, Origi will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

The striker is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season and reportedly has an offer from AC Milan.

We do not think that the 27-year-old will be at Anfield beyond the end of the current campaign.

After all, Origi is 27 now, and he will surely want to be a star player at another major club.

Milan could win the Serie A title this season, and leading the line for the Italian and European giants would be very appealing to Origi.

The striker has made six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this season, scoring three goals in the process.
