Since it returned to our screens on March 6th, Outlander has been essential viewing as its sixth season has packed in plenty of twists and turns for Jamie, Claire and the residents of Fraser’s Ridge.
The last few chapters have been particularly challenging for Claire with episode 7 ending with her being arrested for the murder of Malva Christie.

Outlander season 6 episode 7 recap
Episode 7 of Outlander season 6 aired on Starz on Sunday, April 24th after the series took a short break the week earlier.
Titled Sticks and Stones, the episode picked up the story after Malva’s shocking death at the end of episode 6.
Speculation and rumours began to swirl around the town as the residents of Fraser’s Ridge tried to identify the killer.
Tension arose about the young woman’s funeral as her father insisted that Malva be buried in the middle of nowhere while Jamie believed that she and her baby should be given a proper Christian burial.
Elsewhere, Lizzie Wemyss was at the centre of attention as it was revealed that she had been in a three-way relationship with the Beardsley twins, Josiah and Keziah, as she hadn’t been able to decide which of the brothers to court.
However, after the scandalous affair was put to bed, matters took a turn for the worse for Claire as the episode ended with Richard Brown arriving to have Claire arrested for the killing of Malva Christie.
Outlander season 6 episode 8 release date and plot preview
Episode 8 of Outlander season 6 will air on Starz in the US at 9/8c on Sunday, May 1st, 2022.
The episode is titled I Am Not Alone and will see Claire fighting for her freedom following her arrest.
Richard Brown, the brother of Lionel Brown, and his Committee of Safety are hoping to see Claire found guilty but finding a judge to try their case proves difficult.
Sadly for Outlander fans, episode 8 marks the end of season 6 as production delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic led to a shorter season than usual.
Will Outlander return for season 7?
While we have had to wait longer for season 6, fans have not been left in the dark about the future of Outlander as season 7 is already confirmed.
It was announced in March 2021 that Starz had renewed the series for another batch of episodes, this time based on An Echo in the Bone, Diana Gabaldon’s seventh Outlander novel.
Fans will be pleased to know that to make up for the shorter sixth instalment, season 7 will consist of an increased 16 chapters, making it the joint-longest season of the show so far alongside season 1.
On April 6th, Outlander’s Twitter account confirmed that production on season 7 had begun alongside a behind the scenes photo featuring the key cast members.
Outlander season 6 concludes on Sunday, May 1st on Starz in the US and StarzPlay in the UK.
