Garth Crooks has praised reported Arsenal target and Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus on BBC Sport.

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward and BBC Sport pundit believes that Jesus, linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window, is “a natural finisher”.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City hammered Watford 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this past weekend.

Brazil international forward Jesus scored four goals.

The Athletic reported last week that Arsenal are trying to sign the 25-year-old, with discussions between the Gunners’ Technical Director Edu and representatives of the forward taking place for a number of months.

Praise for Arsenal target Gabriel Jesus

Crooks wrote on BBC Sport: “As for Jesus, regular readers will know how much I hate teams who play with a false number nine, no matter how good that team think they are.

“City have suffered in terms of their goal tally because they have left Jesus out of the team on so many occasions.

“Well, the Brazilian’s four goals helped their goal difference immensely against Watford and in the final stages of the title chase City might need them. A natural finisher if ever I saw one.”

Good signing for Gunners

In our opinion, Jesus would be a good signing for Arsenal in the summer transfer window and would make Mikel Arteta’s attack more potent.

The Manchester City no. 9 has scored seven goals and given eight assists in 17 Premier League starts so far this season.

Jesus warns £91,000 per week as salary at City (SalarySport), which is very much within Arsenal’s range.

Now, of course, City will want a decent transfer fee, but Arsenal could afford it if they finish in the Champions League places in the Premier League table this season.
