Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Eintracht Frankfurt star Filip Kostic during the upcoming summer transfer window.

That’s according to The Independent’s Miguel Delaney in his latest newsletter published this weekend, as noted by The Express.

Delaney suggests that Tottenham boss Antonio Conte wants a number of signings this summer with Kostic on the list.

Other names like Wilfried Singo, Gleison Bremer and Christian Eriksen are mentioned but it’s Kostic who will cause intrigue.

Kostic, 29, is seemingly being eyed up as a new left back wing back in Conte’s 3-4-2-1 system at Tottenham.

Conte does have two options there already though with Ryan Sessegnon and Sergio Reguilon at his disposal.

It does seem like Conte prefers Sessegnon to Reguilon at the moment and the Spaniard has been linked with a move away.

That would free up space to bring Kostic to North London after the Serbian’s outstanding season for Frankfurt.

Kostic has racked up seven goals and 14 assists in 37 games for Frankfurt this season, producing superb displays down the left flank.

Whilst often known as a winger, Kostic has played as a wing back for Frankfurt and has really attracted attention of late.

His two-goal, one-assist performance in the 3-2 Europa League win over Barcelona has really turned heads.

Quick, hard-working and with outstanding end product, Kostic may be exactly what Conte is seeking at wing back.

What will really excite Tottenham fans is that the Bundesliga’s official website compares Kostic to Spurs hero Gareth Bale.

Former Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic has even called Kostic ‘extraordinary’, with the Serbian international highly rated over in Germany.

Kostic turns 30 in November though and some Tottenham fans may have fears about paying up for a player with little resale value.

There will be hope that Tottenham can secure a bargain though with Kostic out of contract in 2023 and Frankfurt potentially needing to sell.
