Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their interest in a certain Victor Osimhen.
The Gunners will be definitely signing a number of striker options this summer given that Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract.
Speculation is mounting in recent days that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City, prior to his four-goal heroics against Watford on Saturday afternoon.
But the North Londoners are also making a stronger effort to bring Osimhen to the Emirates Stadium.
According to the print edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport [page 15, 24/04], Arsenal have taken ‘concrete steps’ to sign the Napoli hitman.

However, the report adds that Champions League qualification is massive for the Nigeria international and therefore has not yet decided who he’ll be joining this summer.
Mikel Arteta’s side are fourth in the Premier League table with six outings left, but they still have to visit Tottenham Hotspur – who are two points behind Arsenal – in May.
Osimhen is one of the reasons why getting top four is massive for the Gunners, because it allows them to bring a higher calibre of player to the club this summer.
And Osimhen is certainly a top-quality forward.
Better than Vlahovic?
The 23-year-old has netted 16 goals across all competitions this season and bagged another five assists.
In fact, Serie A legend Alessandro Altobelli said on Italian television earlier this year that he feels Osimhen is even better than ‘Dusan Vlahovic’, whom Arsenal tried and failed to sign during the January window.
Whether or not that’s true remains to be seen, because Vlahovic certainly boasts better goalscoring statistics in Italian football.
But Osimhen is certainly no slouch and if Arsenal can squeeze into the top four, well it’ll be an enormous boost if they could then squeeze the Napoli star into the squad from there.
