According to Kicker, Karim Adeyemi is now close to joining Borussia Dortmund, despite interest from Liverpool and Newcastle.
What’s the story?
Well, it was Bild who claimed that Liverpool want to sign the 20-year-old, whereas Sport1 revealed Newcastle were keen.
However, Jürgen Klopp and Eddie Howe now look set to miss out on the Germany international, as he nears a move to Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga outfit are said to have agreed a £29m fee with RB Salzburg for Adeyemi’s services.
It is a deserved move for the München-born forward, who has enjoyed a stunning campaign in Austria this term.

So far this season, Adeyemi has scored 20 goals in 39 appearances, while also providing five assists.
Unfortunately for Liverpool and Newcastle, they will not be able to bring his talents to the Premier League, unless there’s a late shock.
Liverpool and Newcastle shouldn’t worry
In our view, this isn’t all bad news for the Reds and the Magpies.
Yes, Adeyemi appears to be a fine talent, although he still has plenty to prove.
After all, Takumi Minamino shone in Austria with RB Salzburg, but has largely struggled in England with just 13 goals in 54 games.

Therefore, there is clearly a difference in difficulty between the Austrian Bundesliga and the Premier League, so it remains to be seen how Adeyemi fares in Germany.
Nevertheless, it seems Liverpool and Newcastle have definitely missed out.
