90Min claim that contract talks between West Ham and Tomas Soucek have broken down and the Czech Republic international could end up leaving the London Stadium – with two Premier League clubs said to be interested.

Soucek, 27, has immediately become a fan favourite at West Ham since joining the club on loan in january 2020 – before a £17.5million permanent move that summer (West Ham website). His current deal ends in 2024.

The report claims that Soucek – who is likely to make his 100th West Ham appearance this weekend – had been in talks over a new deal since January. But at the start of April, those talks have been shelved for the summer.

Now, 90Min say David Moyes does not believe his form currently warrants a new deal despite West Ham reaching the Europa League semi-finals. It has left Soucek feeling ‘undermined’ and it could ‘complicate’ new talks.

Soucek contract: West Ham cannot let midfielder leave this summer

Yes, Soucek’s form has not been as good as his first 18 months at the club. But the midfielder is still only 27, and he is a crucial part of West Ham’s starting XI. He fits perfectly into the system Moyes has implented.

He has the height, the physicality and the threat in both boxes. But he twins that with technical ability and the quality to score goals. West Ham cannot let him leave in the coming weeks or months.
