Tottenham Hotspur are now willing to listen to offers for central defender Joe Rodon this summer amid recent links to Newcastle United and Leeds United.
That’s according to a report from The Telegraph, who claim that Tottenham will listen to bids for Rodon when the transfer window opens.
Despite arriving from Swansea City, Rodon doesn’t count as a homegrown player in Europe.
Rodon counts as Welsh-trained, just like Ben Davies, and is taking up a non-homegrown spot.
Tottenham can’t really afford to have non-homegrown players taking up spots and not playing games, so Rodon is available.
Tottenham paid £11million rising to £15million for Rodon in October 2020, with Jose Mourinho pouncing to sign him.
Whilst there have been promising moments from the 24-year-old, he just hasn’t been able to nail down a first-team role.
Rodon hasn’t started a single Premier League game this season and his one league appearance came way back in September.
The Welshman has managed just 103 minutes of action for Tottenham in the whole of 2022, with his lack of football a major problem.
Rodon will be looking to reach the World Cup with Wales and he can’t afford to be sat on the bench or even in the stands every week.

Antonio Conte recently called Rodon ‘really, really great’, praising his commitment – but that hasn’t resulted in more minutes for Tottenham.
Tottenham are now seemingly willing to let Rodon leave this summer, but will surely expect their money back on the defender.
Premier League club will surely be interested in Rodon. Leeds United and Newcastle United both showed an interest in Rodon ahead of the January window.
Both clubs may retain an interest in Rodon, with his apparent availability surely appealing.
With Tottenham also in the market for a new centre back, Rodon’s exit could be key to Conte’s summer transfer plans.
