Who is Lucian Grainge?
Lucian Grainge, 62, is the chairman and CEO of the Dutch-American music label Universal Music Group.
He grew up in London and started working in a talent scout company, followed by several other jobs at a publishing company and a music firm.
Lucian joined UMG in 1986 and was named chairman of the UK division in 2001 before he was promoted to chairman of Universal Music Group International in 2005.
During his time at the company, he has worked and signed some of the top artists and groups in the world, including Elton John, Katy Perry, Queen, Rihanna, The Rolling Stones, ABBA, Jay Z, and many more.

Universal Music Group is valued at $33 billion (via Rolling Stones). Over the years, the company has signed the likes of Drake, Post Malone, Migos, Juice WRLD, Maroon 5, among others.
In 2020, UMG generated annual sales of $8.40 billion and gained more profits compared to 2019 (around $7 billion).
As for his personal wealth, Lucian’s net worth was estimated to be $40-50 million in 2020. His wealth is reportedly above $50 million as of 2022.

Lucian’s first wife and Elliot’s mother was attorney Samantha Berg. She experienced complications during Elliot’s birth and sadly passed away in 2007.
The music mogul married his second wife Caroline and they welcomed two children together, daughters named Alice and Betsy.
Lucian had an older brother, Nigel Grainge, a music executive who founded the company Ensign Records in 1976.
