According to Bild, Bayern Munich are willing to sell Robert Lewandowski for €40m (£33m) this summer, amid interest from Liverpool & Manchester City.
What’s the story?
Well, this would be quite the signing for Jürgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola.
It was Polish news outlet Interia Sport who claimed that Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in signing the 129-cap Poland international this summer.
Now, Bild journalist Christian Falk has revealed that Bayern Munich would prefer to keep Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena, but if he doesn’t sign a new contract, they will sell for £33m.
As things stand, the 33-year-old’s current terms expire in June 2023.
So far this season, Lewandowski has remarkably scored 47 goals in 42 appearances, while also providing six assists.
It has taken his career total to a staggering 506 goals in just 672 games.
Liverpool should ignore Robert Lewandowski

It seems bizarre to say given his goalscoring record, but Liverpool should ignore Lewandowski this summer – Klopp simply doesn’t need him.
The Reds have a number of world class forwards at their disposal nowadays, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino at Anfield.
Therefore, Klopp already has too many options, as he tends to start with a three-man frontline and only one central forward, which is the only position Lewandowski can operate in.

Only if one or two of these forwards leave should Liverpool make a move for Lewandowski, but as things are, the Reds do not need the Polish poacher.
Nevertheless, keep an eye on this saga, as anything could happen.
