Lewis Dunk has claimed that ‘you could hear’ the Tottenham fans getting ‘frustrated’ during their 1-0 defeat to Brighton on Saturday, as he told BT Sport.

The Brighton centre-back added that his teammates executed their game plan ‘perfectly’ against Antonio Conte’s side.

It was an afternoon of football to forget for Spurs, who after scoring goals galore so far in 2022, then hit their biggest brick wall yet against Graham Potter’s men.

Tottenham failed to have a shot on target and they were then outdone in the 90th minute when Leandro Trossard danced his way past Eric Dier

Dunk praised the effort his teammates put in and spoke about, both the fans and the Spurs players getting ‘frustrated’.

“The game plan, we executed it perfectly,” said Dunk. “You could hear the fans getting frustrated and the team getting frustrated. That’s what we came here to do.

“Our game plan worked and this little man (Leandro Trossard) finished it off at the end. It was amazing.”

That’s two damaging defeats Brighton have slapped on two north London clubs, as no-one is the wiser at to what will happen in the battle for Champions League football.

Spurs fans would have had their head in their hands when they were beaten during their early kick-off on Saturday.

But Arsenal couldn’t captitlise on those dropped points because another south coast team in Southampton ensured they left St Mary’s empty-handed.

Nonetheless, for Conte, it’s an away trip against Brentford next, who have a certain Christian Eriksen in their ranks.
