West Ham midfielder Alex Kral is reportedly wanted by Serie A side Atalanta, with the 23-year-old set to depart east London at the end of the season.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Czech Republic international is on the UEFA Champions League side’s radar, with Bologna also interested in Kral despite a disappointing season with West Ham.

The Spartak Moscow star joined the Hammers last summer on an initial loan deal with an option to become permanent for £19m in total as reported by the Evening Standard.

However, the youngster has failed to settle with the Premier League side, with Kral playing just one minute of league football and starting only three games in all competitions, with West Ham and David Moyes unlikely to sign the midfielder permanently this summer.

With the Hammers set for a huge transfer window after another incredible season that could result in European silverware, allowing Kral to leave could be Atalanta’s gain more so than West Ham’s loss.

Indeed, the Serie A side are known for their incredible scouting network and ability to sign hidden gems from seemingly nowhere, and Kral could be Atalanta’s latest genius move this summer.

Given the success of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal in east London, Kral’s career has come to a crashing halt since joining West Ham, yet a move to Atalanta could reinvent the midfielder’s career for the better.

After all, the Italian side are one of the best clubs in Europe for developing promising talents, and Kral’s qualities could be suited to Serie A with Atalanta, who have the potential to transform the 23-year-old into a world-beater.
